We were given the opportunity to try the Tea Menu at $15 which consists of a white chocolate taro lava cake and a cup of hot coffee. The white chocolate taro lava cake consists of rose meringue bits atop, white chocolate ganache, mixed berry jelly, taro paste, and shiso leaf. It is also served with homemade taro ice cream on a bed of cookie crumbs.

I enjoyed the lava cake as it was unique and something different from other lava cakes that I have tried before. What sets this lava cake apart from the rest is the texture of the cake which was thicker. Many found the thickness of the cake a flaw but I really liked it as this made the dish more filling and also equalized the cake to lava ratio. Also, the taro lava was smooth and flowed easily the moment the lava cake was cut open.

However, to my disappointment, I could not taste any hint of white chocolate ganache in the taro paste or the cake as mentioned by the chef. On a better note, the ice cream was handmade from scratch and had small taro bits in it, making it very authentic. One of my favorite parts of the dish was the cookie bits beneath the ice cream as it complemented the dish really well by providing a crunch.

Most importantly, I think this deserves full marks for presentation!
