I’m sure that many of you have heard about the major event in December that Nomnom is organizing! And if you haven’t heard, we will be bringing you Singapore’s first Café Week where you will get to dine specially created set menus at our participating cafes from 10 to 13 December 2015 and 17 to 20 December 2015

With so many menus available to choose from, let us help you narrow down the choice and find the perfect café for you during Singapore Café Week 2015!

IF YOU ARE A SEAFOOD LOVER,

You must not miss Privé’s Pan-Roasted Seabass (Brunch Menu), Baked Squid Ink Rice (Brunch Menu) and their amazingly awesome Boston Clam Chowder (Dinner Menu).

Privé’s Pan-Roasted Seabass is perfectly cooked with the flesh so tender and so incredibly moist that the fish will flake with the slightest nudge from your fork. The garlic butter sauce adds the perfect touch of savouriness to the fish. This is definitely one of the best fish dishes I have ever eaten.

Privé’s Baked Squid Ink Rice does not disappoint as well, with perfectly cooked California short-grain rice. Seafood lovers will definitely love the generous servings of plump tiger prawns and juicy squids.

Moving on to the Boston Clam Chowder featured in Privé’s dinner menu, you can expect a rich, full bodied clam chowder that is full of the sweetness from the clams. I also loved breaking apart the lid of the squid ink bread bowl and dragging it through the flavoursome soup to let it soak up all the yummy goodness!

I will definitely recommend you to grab a few friends so that all of you can get to taste the different starters and mains that are featured in Privé’s Café Week menu.

Group Therapy Dinner Menu - Stuffed Squid (Image from NOM'S Brand Ambassador, Shericia)

Group Therapy Coffee’s Stuffed Squid is also a dish that you should definitely try if you enjoy seafood. Stuffed with minced pork, and served with a spicy reduced tomato sauce, this is one dish that looks visually stunning and taste just as good. I must say, this is definitely one of the more ambitious dishes we’ve seen for Café Week as the chef that is cooking this squid has to make sure that the squid is cooked just perfect so that it is not rubbery and tough.

The BetterField Brunch Menu - Furikake Norwegian Salmon (Image from OpenRice)

The BetterField also serves up an amazing Salmon dish for their Café Week brunch menu. The sashimi-grade Norwegian salmon is seared and cooked so well, with the insides still slightly raw and pink, that the fish achieves the almost melt-in-your-mouth texture. Absolutely in love with this Salmon dish.

IF NOTHING MAKES YOU HAPPIER THAN A GOOD RIBEYE,

The BetterField Dinner Menu - Hickory Spiced Ribeye (Image from OpenRice)

The Betterfield’s Hickory Spiced Ribeye will have you covered! The ribeye is marinated and perfectly seared with a Cajun spice crust before being quickly smoked with hickory. The slightly charred and smoky flavour complements the perfectly cooked ribeye. It is served together with the most amazing mashed potatoes that you will ever taste – the secret spiced duck fast mousseline, which just might make you a tiny bit more satisfied than the ribeye.

OMB Brunch Menu (Image from café)

While not exactly a ribeye, OMB delivers a pretty neat Bacon Beef Slider where the minced beef is seasoned so well and it is just full of umami. The bacon jam smothered on it just elevates this entire Bacon Beef Slider altogether, adding so much depth in flavour to the minced beef.

TRUFFLE FRIES. TRUFFLED MAC & CHEESE. IF YOU ARE A “TRUFFLE EVERYTHING” KINDA PERSON,

The Holqa Café Dinner Menu - White Truffle Shrooms Risotto (Image from NOM'S Brand Ambassador, Cassie)

We have just the thing for you – head over to The Holqa Cafe for their White Truffle Shrooms Risotto. Cooked to a creamy consistency, topped with the most addictive fried enoki mushrooms and drizzled with that fragrant white truffle oil, this is one warm, hearty dish that I cannot get enough of.

IF YOU BELIEVE IN BOE (bacon over everything),

OMB is screaming for you to come dine with them! From bacon starters, to bacon mains to bacon desserts, you will NOT BE disappointed. Go ahead and indulge in a bacon feast – I know I’ll be!

IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN,

Well Dressed Salad Bar Dinner Menu - Tempehtion Island (Image from NOM'S Brand Ambassador, Julius)

(Or if you are looking to be convinced that meatless does not mean tasteless), you have to try Well Dressed Salad Bar and Café’s Café Week dinner menu! The meal starts off with a warm bowl of carrot soup served with fried shredded ginger and coriander, followed by their take on a deconstructed Satay Burger – the Tempeh-tion island, and ends off with either a raw Molten Chocolate Lava Cake or a Raw Carrot Cake. We are definitely impressed by how well seasoned the mock-meat patty was, and that rich, peanut-y Satay sauce which is oh-so-satisfying! This is certainly one of the most unique dishes in this year’s Café Week!

IF YOU THINK DESSERTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE THE MAIN HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR MEAL,

Strangers' Reunion Dinner Menu - Vodka Crepe Suzette (Image from OpenRice)

You HAVE TO get yourself a seat at Strangers’ Reunion and Curious Palette. The both do not disappoint with their desserts that are specially created just for their Café Week dinner menu. Strangers’ Reunion serves up a Vodka Crepe Suzette where you will get to enjoy a stack of crepes drizzled with orange caramel, flambéed with a shot of vodka, and served together with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

Curious Palette Dinner Menu - Curious Chocolate (Image from NOM'S Brand Ambassador, Eleanor)

If you are a chocolate lover, then you will be psyched to hear that Curious Palette will be serving up decadent chocolate dish for dessert. Made with Belgian chocolate, this rich chocolate-y dessert is topped with mini marshmallows and rice crispies, giving this dessert that addictive crunch factor!

Froth All-day Tea Menu - Taro Lava Cake (Image from NOM'S Brand Ambassador, Vanessa)

Now, if you just want to zoom straight to desserts, I highly recommend you to try Froth’s White Chocolate Taro Lava Cake. Specially created just for Café Week, this dish was inspired by the owner’s love for Taro. Carefully cut open the Lava Cake and you will see a blend of taro and white chocolate custard ooze out. Pair it with some of the house-churned taro ice cream, and it will send you straight to dessert heaven.

IF YOU WANNA HAVE A TAI-TAI HIGH TEA SESSION WITH YOUR GIRLFRIENDS,

L’éclair by Sarah Michelle will definitely be a great place for you and your girlfriends to hang out, chill, chat and indulge over some yummy éclairs. L’éclair café week all-day tea menu consists of a mini Signature Chicken Bacon Pie (which in my opinion, it’s really not that mini, but rather substantial), a regular sized éclair of your choice, and a beverage of your choice. I recommend going in a group and choosing a few different flavours of éclairs to share! Popular flavours include the Ispahan, Lemon Meringue and Hazelnut Praline. Do keep a lookout for some of their special Christmas flavours too!

If you would like to dine at a place with a more hipster vibe, you can be sure that Old Boys Gallery will be just the right place for you and your group. Serving up a substantial sweets and savouries platter with your choice of a pot of tea, Old Boys Gallery will not disappoint you with the variety and quality of food.

IF YOU WANT TO GET IN THE CHRISTMAS MOOD,

The Tuckshop Brunch Menu - Ice Coco Mint

The Tuckshop Brunch Menu – Ice Coco Mint

The Tuckshop’s Christmas drinks in their Café Week brunch menu will definitely appeal to you! Choose from either the iced Coco Mint, which is a bottled ice chocolate milk drink with peppermint, or the warm Toasted Gingerbread Latte with toasted hazelnuts and a dash of cinnamon. These will definitely set you in the Christmas mood! Oh, and let me deviate a little and rave about the highly addictive salmon cornetto starter in their Café Week brunch menu – they are soooo good!

IF YOU LOOKING FOR SOME GOOD COFFEE,

Curious Palette Specialty Coffee (Image from NOM'S Brand Ambassador, Eleanor)

Be sure to drop by Toby’s Estate during Cafe Week too as NOM’S members will be entitled to a complimentary cup of cold brew with every order of their Brekkie of Champions.

IF YOU LOOKING FOR SOME GOOD TEA,

Old Boys Gallery and The Holqa Café takes the spot for serving up some great tea! Old Boys Gallery will be serving either the French Rose tea or the Snow Chrysanthemum tea as part of their Café Week tea menu while The Holqa Café will be offering a selection of artisanal tea (on top of other beverage choices) as part of their Café Week dinner menu. I recommend you to try the Strawberry Shortcake tea, which is an incredibly light and delicate, almost floral-like, tea that has the scent of a strawberry shortcake.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR INSTAGRAMMABLE-WORTHY PLATES OF FOOD,

Froth All-day Tea Menu - Taro Lava Cake (Image from café)
